May 2007 - Japan with Sue Peters

I had a lovely time in Kyoto. Although I had recently been to Japan, I was in Tokyo. Kyoto is much older, and has a lot of historical buildings and temples.

First I tried a traditional tea room, where I had green tea and a nice cake.

Sue bought me a lovely kimono...

I was a bit bothered about the damp in the hotel foyer, but Sue told me it would be all right.

I would have like to ride round in this carriage, but nobody had a bullock handy to pull it!

We went to Nijo Palace which is 400 years old. Rhubarb was here last year.

I really liked this Zen garden built by Buddhist monks to meditate in.

Can you see me?? This was a lovely pagoda in Arayashima.

We went shopping in the biggest market in Kyoto. I'm just having a rest!

After the shopping we sat in this lovely garden. There were turtles and herons!

I liked the view from this restaurant!

On our last day we went on a coach trip to Nara. This is me looking out of the window for the tame deer.

This one asked if I knew a very nice rabbit called Rhubarb who visited last year!

I enjoyed my trip very much but I was glad to have a week off when I got back! Wonder where I'm off to next??
