A week with Ruby - June 2008

Wednesday
Well, today I was delivered to a Miss Ruby, her lovely neighbours took me in until she got home. My envelope was lovely and snugly to travel in, though of course I prefer Private Jet with carrot juice on tap! My nice red woolly jumper also arrived today and I am looking forward to wearing it to my adventure on Friday.

“Adventure?” I hear you say, why yes, cos I am meeting a very special pony called Mandy who has said that she will give me a little ride and even share her carrots with me! I am positively exhausted now by my journey, so I am going to say goodnight to my new-found fluffy friends and go to bed in my little red box!

Thursday
Today I had a leisurely breakfast and a sniff around the garden spinach (organic of course!) sadly no carrots but then had a lovely nap and then Miss Ruby came home from school! Then we ate carrots and she carried me around constantly, and I quote “So what if he’s just a teeny bit older than all the other little toy travelling rabs out here, I love him!”

Hrrumph! The cheek of it I say, these 2-foots kissing and hugging me! Oh, who can complain really! Well off to bed I now go, though it’s a bit cold so I may have to hop up onto the bed and make myself a next! Hmmm. I wonder if she has any nice hay around here…..

Friday
Today I went to school with Miss Ruby, and what a day it was! I played and bounced about in the little organic garden they have, and guess what I found?

WILLOW !
Ruby pruned some off for me and made me a little hat! After having a delicious and filling time, we hopped off to a place called a ‘stables’ and I was told to be on my best behaviour. The cheek of it!
I was then introduced to a lovely pony called Mandy, who very kindly let me ride her! That is one more mode of transport ticked off of my extensive list then, but sadly the furry pony ate all of the carrots before I even got a look in! All in all, a very fun day, though Miss Ruby does have some very strange friends.

Saturday
Today, Miss Ruby took me to work with her on a farm in the city! Could you believe such a thing existed?

We said hello to some lovely strange people and also to some other buns like myself (but just a tad bigger!). They weren’t very good as sharing their treats either, but they were still quite happy to nose-wiggle back!

And I liked to so much at Freightliners Farm, that I decided to grab some wellies and join in.

I also snuck my way into their hay barn and went a bit crazy with all that deliciousness!

Then we went to a festival-sort-of-thing. There was so much to do! We said hello (well my caretakers did) to some very nice doggies. I also very much enjoyed the little drink I had with Miss R and her Mum, Then, to bed and lots of snuggles and lettuce-filled dreams!

Sunday
Being in London, we went to a big hall belonging to a Mr Royal Albert. What a funny name! I got a picture taken with Miss Ruby and I outside a big golden statue of Mr Royal Albert and I got some lettuce for my lunch.

Then we crossed the road, to go and see a show called ‘The King and I’

Sadly, there were absolutely no bunnies in it, so only 4 carrots out of 5 from me, not that I’m sharing my carrots mind you!!!

Also, on our way there and back, we went on a double-decker Big Red London Bus and an Underground Train, otherwise known as the Tube. Unfortunately they don’t provide nice willow tunnels and loo roll ‘tubes’ for their wabbit travellers!

Monday
As poor little Miss Ruby had exams at her school, I couldn’t come with her, but I have a lovely day resting and surfing the net (visiting the Bobtails website too!) and dreaming of willow and carrots and all manner of bunny matters

Tuesday
Again my young caretaker had a big test today, so more chillaxing followed by a dinner of carrot with carrot garnish and lettuce sauce, with carrot liquer and a willow swizzlestick! (hehe I wish!)

Wednesday
Tonight is my last night staying with Ruby and we are both going to miss each other an awful lot! She has told me that even though I am a tad smelly (well I never!) after having travelled for so long, it is just the sort of smell she likes, so I am going to sleep all snuggled up with her tonight!

Thursday
Off I go, back to Karen and then on to my next victim – oh I mean caretaker!! I have had a lovely time, and hope to return soon before I retire!

Thank you Ruby for helping Sir Parsley with his Transport quest and for finding so many other fun things for him to do. Bobtails really appreciate your generous donation too!
