May 2006 - Rhubarb and Sue Peters have a fabulous holiday in Japan
When Rhubarb arrived at the hotel in Kyoto he found that if he looked out of the window he could see the bullet trains going through the station

He visited Toji Temple

and it's beautiful gardens...

where he met some turtles

Then he went to the Emperors Palace

He saw the biggest wooden building in the world, which houses a huge statue of Bhudda, about 50 feet tall. The building is 400 years old.
Then he went to the Deer Park in Nara, where there are 1000 tame deer.

But he had to be careful because they will eat anything!!

He visited the Nijo Palace built by the Shogun Tokagawa in 1603

and the beautiful Golden Pavilion `Kinkakuji

It is covered with real gold foil
