December 2005 - I've found Paradise and I'm not coming home

I couldn’t believe my luck. “It’s The
Maldives this time”, my agent told me – well how could I refuse?
I packed my sun-seeking gear and set off. When I arrived the scenery was breathtaking.
For the first few days I just put on my shades and lazed around
I looked
the business in my cap
I built
a sand castle – a pretty good one even if I do say so myself!
I soon discovered that
The Maldives a just paradise. I decided that nobody was going to make me
go home, so I started hiding in places where people wouldn’t find
me. My first place was in a hole I dug in the sand, but I was easily spotted.
Next I tried a hole
in a tree (see photo 5), but that was no good either. I just couldn’t
camouflage myself enough.
If I can’t hide
IN a tree, I would escape out of reach UP a tree (see photo 6). But they
just sent a nasty bird to shoo me down!
In desperation,
I started to plan an underwater escape to another island I could see in the
distance. So I put on my snorkelling gear and hatched a plan to escape properly this time
Once
in the water I paddled as fast as my little paws would carry me – I
would be free at last!
I was getting away – no
one could catch me now. I was far too fast for them
When
I reached my very own deserted island, I was exhausted. But it turned out
I wasn’t
alone after all. As the sun went down, my newly found bunny friend persuaded me that I really
must go home to continue my fundraising for Bobtails rabbit & guinea pig rescue. I had
to agree with her, so I am now ready for my next trip.
Now
that was what I call a blooming good holiday! So if anybody reading this is
thinking of going to The Seychelles and has space for me in their suitcase,
you know where I am! Rhubarb |
