A trip to the lakes in the snow with Gill and Keith - March
2009

Oh
no! Auntie Karen has not packed my warm woolly jumpers.
I am sure I will need them in the Lake
District in March.
I
came to the Lake District last
June and it rained all week, and it is STILL raining.
Look at that sea! |
Rain
yesterday. Snow today, but only on the hills the other side
of Crummock Water. Why is there none here on the grass,
RSJ?
But
the next day – snow everywhere. I wonder if we could
go sledging….
What
a good idea to use the lid from the butterdish. |
Look
at the road disappearing into the distance. I wonder what
is at the top of the pass…. |
… a
waterfall still gushing water and it has not frozen like
the road in front. |
Whow!!
Have you ever seen icicles like this before? |
These
snowdrops at Jenkin Farm look lovely after the snow has melted. |
Now
a quick check to see what is happening in Reigate – my favourite hanging basket has just started
to produce irises.
A
lovely tub of crocuses which will look great when they open.
Also, kale plants in the background for all the bunnies that
live here.
At
the allotment – Look! Rhubarb that is smaller than
me. |
But
before you can say Stockbridge Arrow, it’s overtaken
me. Doh!
