France with Gill and Keith and Friends - April 2008
Although
you can’t tell yet, this is me arriving by
post at Gill and Keith’s, with my old friends RSJ, Rufus
and Miss Prudence waiting for me.
Phew!
Fresh air again. “Hello chaps”. |
Of
course there was some catching up to do, and……
then RSJ (Ruffles Sidney Junior) took me down to the allotment to show me the
daffodils
Hope both of you, Clem and Arthur, have
packed your toothbrushes for your holiday with Auntie Mary. Behave
yourselves for the week! |
Fast forward
to France, where the banks at the sides of the roads are full
of celandine…..
and primroses. |
After
an exhausting day, RSJ organized a nice meal for us bunnies,
(that’s another rabbit friend
of mine, Brambletops), but who is that peering out of the French
(we are in France) windows? |
Hey,
it’s Fabriqué, shouts RSJ. Come and join us for
tea! Fabriqué is French, so there’s a bit of a
language barrier to overcome. |
Anyway
we all sat around chomping dandelions and discussing what we
were going to do in France. RSJ said that he wanted an “activity
holiday”, so…… |
We went “off roading” in Keith’s car. (Actually
it wasn’t proper off roading because they are just tracks
across the fields), but RSJ was happy enough. I had a travel
sickness pill when we got home!
Then RSJ
said he wanted to do some abseiling. He said sliding down was
OK, but….
it was hard work climbing back up! |
Next day
Keith and Gill took me to a wildlife park for endangered animals,
where I saw flamingos (Do you know why they are soooo pink?
Because they live on a diet of pink prawns. Honest!)…
Also saw some wallabies, some of whom were
carrying youngsters in their pouches, and I saw lots of other
animals too. |
What
do you think of the new pad, eh? Of course, it’s got to
have a loft conversion, but that will come later.
Back to the cottage, and a final tea party for everyone before
we come back to England. |
Next
day we returned to England, via Calais and “Le Tunnel sous la Manche”,
as they say in France. |
