This is OUR regatta for OUR club.
Help put Staines on the map where it belongs!
Staines Regatta JOBS LIST:

Administration tent: 6
o
These people
will:
§
be in charge of boating area; need to ensure
boating area not blocked by cars / trailers / trestles etc;
§
ensure crews
follow boating and landing instructions;
§
Need to liaise with Start Marshals
if crews are late / don't show for races
§
Deal with general
enquiries
·
Boat Marshals: 4
o
These helpers will ensure that all
boats both enter and exit the water safely and in an orderly fashion. There
will be strict boating rules on the day, and these must be enforced.
·
Start Marshals: 6
o
Will liaise with start umpire to ensure smooth
progress of races and ensure correct crews are ready to race
·
Race Control: 4
o
Whilst
working with two umpires in the finish tent, these people will record the
results of each race (winners, time, winning margin)
·
Car Parking: 8
o
Ensuring that
Silvery Sands is used to its full potential, and to ensure that there is always
a safe entry and exit path for any emergency vehicles.
·
Traffic signs and Setup: 5
o
Early start
to set up various regatta items insluding traffic signs. However, these people
will not be needed again until the end of the regatta to help pack up. (most of
the day off!, good if you want to race!)
·
Swan Herding: 10
o
Keep Tyson and his “Staines Massive”
at bay and ensure they don’t attack “dem Laleham boys”! AAAAYYE!
·
Stake Boats: 8
o
Shifts of
small(ish) people in pairs. Sit in a boat and get the best view of the start!
·
Food: 8
o
Preparation
and selling sandwiches, cakes and cold food etc.
·
BBQ: 6
o
From Bacon
Rolls to Burgers!….cook up the biggest feast in town!
·
Bar: 6
o
Try not to
get the rowers too drunk before they race!
·
Other Jobs:
o
