How to add your photos to the Staines web site

Everyone is buying digital cameras. So many that more and more photographs are being sent to be added to this web site. Unfortunately my web space (paid for by me) is filling up rapidly and the workload after every Staines event is getting larger.

The solution? Add your photographs to YOUR web space and then SEND ME the link so I can add it to this web site.

Of course, if you have a special photo(s), then you can still send it/them to me for inclusion.

How to do it

Most ISP's (Internet Service Providers), as a part of your Internet access package give you free web space that you can upload your photographs to. If you look on their web sites you will usually find a help section which will guide you through the procedure for creating a web page and uploading it. It really is not hard so persevere and once mastered it will give you full control of the images and the way they are shown. There is also free web space widely available although usually banners ads will be shown at the top of the pages.

I have tried to write a web page but got stuck!

If you cannot manage to make your own web page or web site then there are plenty of online web sites to help. You simply select the photographs you want and they are put on a publicly accessible web page for all to see. All you do is to send me the link to add to this web site. There are too many sites to mention them all here now but they can easily be found by a simple search on the web. For example, try one of these links ---

I have published my photos - what do I do now?

Just copy the URL (web address) of your photo page and send me the link to add to this web site. All I ask is that you leave them on the Internet for as long as possible so other people can get the maximum enjoyment by looking at them. If you ever have to take them off then just let me know so I can remove the link.

I need advice or help.

Please ask me or one of the other Staines members who have a digital camera and we will advise you the best we can.
