31st July 2001 CODE RED VIRUS - Although the servers on which the Staines Boat Club web site resides have taken every precaution to ensure that this virus will not affect them, it is quite likely that many companies may not have been so careful. The likely consequence of this is that the Internet generally will slow down considerably. Therefore if you have difficuilty in viewing the Staines web site, or any part of it since it is held on more than one server, in the near future, it will be the clog up in the system that is at fault and nothing to do with the site. Let us hope it is not too prolonged.

31st July 2001 A message here directly from our friends at SAS Roklubben - .... "The Danes wish to thank all the members from Staines BC and BA rowing section for a brilliant weekend in Staines. We are sorry we lost both our invitation races, but ..... we will be back ! And next year we might have trained a little more - three times instead of two times ! Thanks very much to Murray and Gurli for coxing us, we hope you will be coxing us again next year. Don't forget to look at our website, there might be something in English now and then" ! Johnny Bügel, President

"The surgeons found a couple of narrow spots in the arteries which hopefully they have rectified, but I will not know how effective the cardio angioplasty has been for a couple of weeks as I have to rest until the stent has healed over. I am cautiously optimistic that I will be back exercising gently before the end of the month. Good luck for Staines Regatta. I hope to pop down for a couple of hours around lunch time.
