3rd August 2001 PRESENTATION TIME - SAS -
BA - STAINES At the regatta party last Saturday, SAS
Roklubben pulled a rabbit out of the hat by making some presentations. The
first was by Johnny Bugel, assisted by Susanna, to Brian Drew of the BA Rowing
Section to mark the 25th Anniversary of the "twinning" of the two
clubs. The second was by Walter to Peter Smith, Captain of Staines Boat Club,
to mark the 150th anniversary of rowing at Staines. Both were complete surprises
and warmly received by members of both the clubs. The bronze blades were etched
with suitable descriptions as shown in the photographs. A little birdy has
told us that it's the SAS 50th Birthday in September- so lets try to think
up something novel for them. Replies to tftrb@otterproperty.co.uk
